This page explains what information Visa and Varsity (visaandvarsity.com) collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Visa and Varsity publishes study abroad cost guides and cost calculators. If you have a question about this policy, email us at contact@visaandvarsity.com
What we collect
Visit data from Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, added to the site through the Google Site Kit plugin. It records which pages you view, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, your approximate location and how you found us. We use it to see which guides help readers. We do not see your name or your email address in it.
Server records. Our hosting provider may keep basic technical records when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you asked for. These records are used to run and protect the site.
Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and your email address so we can reply.
Your calculator entries. Our calculators work in your browser. The amounts you type, such as tuition or rent, are used to show your total on your own screen. We do not receive the amounts you type.
Your currency choice. Some pages remember the currency you choose by saving it in your browser. This stays on your device. The page may also read your browser language setting to guess a currency to show first.
What we do not collect. This site does not have user accounts, comments, a sign up form or online payments. We do not ask for your passport details, bank details or any immigration documents.
Cookies and similar tools
Google Analytics can set cookies in your browser to tell visitors apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also install the Google Analytics opt out add on from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Your calculator currency choice is kept in your browser storage, and you can clear it in the same settings.
How we use your information
We use it to understand which pages readers find useful, to improve our guides and calculators, to keep the site secure and to reply to messages. We do not sell your information.
